Foundation for Wellness Professionals - Remmel Wellness Center is a member of the Foundation for Wellness Professionals, a non-profit organization, whose members believe that the most significant way to reduce healthcare costs is to educate the public on ways to maintain their health and prevent disease. Members are natural healthcare professionals who donate their time as motivational and keynote speakers, host Wellness Days, blood pressure checks, spinal screenings and deliver educational workshops at no charge on health-related topics in their local communities. ASAP - Every year around Thanksgiving, Remmel Wellness Center conducts a canned food drive to benefit ASAP Homeless Shelter. We weigh the food donated and match it pound for pound with turkeys. www.asaphomeless.org
All Children’s Hospital – As members of the Krewe of the Conquistadors of Tampa Bay, we raise money for the All Children’s Hospital Cardiac Care Unit. www.allkids.org
Suncoast Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation – Remmel Wellness Center sponsors a team to participate in the 5k fun run/walk to raise money for the local affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. www.komensuncoast.org

Toys for Tots – For over 25 years, Remmel Wellness Center has been a Toys for Tots collection site. Donations by us, the community and our patients provide hundreds of needy children with toys at Christmas time. www.toysfortots.org
Haitian Earthquake Relief Drive – Efforts coordinated through out office in January/February of 2010 resulted in over 1,000 pounds of food plus diapers, baby formula, toiletries and medical supplies being flown in and delivered to a mission outside of Port au Prince days before the Red Cross began distribution of relief supplies in the region. The food we delivered feed 400 children for 3 days. We were also successful in coordinating volunteer anaesthesiologists, nurses and surgical techs and secured the donation of an x-ray machine and supplies to a Haitian clinic that lost their x-ray equipment in the earthquake.
American Heart Association Heart Walk – RWC helps to sponsor the VIP tent at the American Cancer Association Heart Walk, and provides complimentary chair massages to the walk participants in the VIP tent. www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3053039
Anytime Fitness Charity Golf Tournament- RWC sponsored the 10th tee at the Second Annual Anytime Fitness Charity Golf Tournament in June 2010, benefiting the Make a Wish Foundation.
Andretti Foundation – Remmel Wellness Center supports the efforts of the Andretti Foundation through donations of auction items for the annual Andretti Foundation Black Tie Gala held in conjunction with the St. Pete Grand Prix. www.andrettiautosport.com/Foundation.html
Krewe of the Conquistadors of Tampa Bay – Members of RWC are also members of KCOTB and volunteer their time on a variety of committees. One of the most rewarding events we take place in are the annual Gasparilla Children’s Parade where we invite 20 cardiac patients from All Children’s Hospital and their parents to ride on our float and throw beads to the crowds lining Bayshore Boulevard. We are also extremely proud to sponsor the annual Happy Heart Party – where all current and former cardiac patients of All Children’s Hospital are able to come and celebrate life in a fun-filled environment where they can mingle with other patients and families just like them, along with the cardiac doctors and nurses. www.kcotb.net
Neighborhood Appreciation Block Party – each year RWC sponsors a neighborhood appreciation event. Sometimes it takes the form of a block party that is co-hosted by other businesses in the neighborhood. Sometimes it takes the form of a health screening and wellness expo. In each case, the appreciation event is free to the public and is our way of giving back and saying thank you to our neighbors.
Other events – We are always evaluating charitable opportunities and frequently donate gift certificates for services and/or purchase tickets to benefits. Examples include: The Lick Breast Cancer Fundraiser and the Let’s Monkey Around for Boobies Fundraiser.
