Gonstead Technique - A form of manual manipulation where the patient is seated while receiving an adjustment to the cervical spine (neck). This technique is highly specialized with only a few practitioners capable of performing this technique in the Tampa Bay area.
Thompson Technique - Also known as Thompson terminal point, this technique utilizes a specific chiropractic table known as a drop table allowing specific non-traumatic manipulation.
Cox Technique - Also known as Cox flexion-distraction technique is a form of traction beneficial in the treatment of disc bulges/herniations.
Activator Method - This is a completely non-aggressive, non-traumatic technique utilizing an activator instrument or adjustor.
Diversified Technique - A technique employed by most chiropractic physicians, adjusting the patient while they are lying down.
Cold Laser Therapies
Laser, also known as low energy therapy (LLLT), in medicine dates back to the late 1960’s. The light from a laser is monochromatic, thus allowing it to penetrate deep into tissue. The depth of penetration is contingent upon the wavelength. The application employed by Dr. Remmel and his staff effects the following:
- Increased cell metabolism (stimulates cell growth)
- Cell regeneration
- Decreases inflammation (swelling), through increased tissue activity
- Revascularization thus reducing fibrous tissue formation
- Stimulates nerve function
